Sometime during his freshman year at Concordia in Seward, Nebraska, Kevin got homesick and opened his Bible.  The words he read in Psalm 86 echoed his feelings as he read, “Listen, Lord, and answer me for I am miserable and poor…full of love for all who call to You.”  He picked up his guitar and before the day was over, he was singing a paraphrased version of that chapter and has been writing Christian songs ever since.
