Intro: C F C F C F Where is the fire that burned so bright this summer? C F C F Why does it always seem to fade as summer turns to fall and fall fades to winter? C F Where is the peak that held me high this summer? C F Why do I always fall to the valley when I fall back into routine? Refrain C F G Monotony has gotten me again! F C F C F Am-G I swore I’d never, no never go back to the way I was before, C F C F But here I go again! C F Where is the love that filled my heart this summer? Why is so much harder love when I focus on myself instead of on those around me? Where is the time I told myself this summer, I’d take to spend with you every day, to read Your Word and pray? 2nd Refrain Monotony has gotten me again! I swore I’d never, no never go back to the way I was before, So Lord, I pray: Bridge Take me to the mountaintop, let Your fire burn within me! Help me trust Your Word alone, not just the feelings You give me. ‘Cause valleys come and mountains go, but one thing I know: Your Word is Truth. Teach me Your Truth. Your Word is Truth. Sanctify me by Your Truth. I have found hope in spring, fall, winter and summer. Whenever I hear Your precious Word, it reminds me of the truth: all my sin is forgiven. It gives me Your Peace far beyond the summer. Regardless of the way I feel, I know Your Word is real. 3rd Refrain Monotony has gotten me again! I wanna hear Your Word, Lord, over and over, each day more and more! It gives me life again! Your Word is Truth. Teach me Your Truth. Your Word is Truth. Sanctify me by Your Truth. |
